Hah, so I actually found subtext for Black Whirlwind/Mad Kang, which is...more than a little scary.

Whirlwind: Even if I fight till all I have left is stumps, it'll be all right if I can still drink my wine. Hey, that's actually not a bad idea. Kang!! Make me a bowl I can hold with stumps!

Kang: Yours, or someone else's?

Whirlwind: Hah! Now that's thinking!

...Okay, yeah, it's not all that blatant, but if it was, it wouldn't be subtext.

ETA: As promised, Sir Roderick's epilogue... (written down directly from the screen, because I'm just that much of a geek)

Sir Roderick Ponce von Fontlebottom left the Jade Empire a broken man. His skill had failed at his moment of greatest triumph, and he found it difficult to stomach defeat, despite his grand capacity. Surely he had not lost as badly as he thought. Surely there was some explanation. Surely he still had something left to teach this barbaric land. After much soul searching, he ended up trading his last pair of pantaloons for passage to the Prosperous East and the long journey home. He eventually discovered the Fountain of Couth, and became once again virtually unflappable. That, or he was accidentally killed by the Black Whirlwind. It was hard to say, the people seemed to have lost all interest. Squire Percival tired of being called "Shirley" and returned to his village.

God, I love Bioware...
