skis, yey!
Nov. 26th, 2006 12:41 amWell, my day has been pretty damn good. I got new skis today, which might not seem all that wonderful or speshul, but it's a pretty big deal for me, as it's the first new pair of skis I've ever had.
Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against hand-me-down skis. Hell, that's what I learned to ski on, both downhill and cross-country. Looking back, I'm amazed I could even downhill at all, as my first pair of skis were about a foot and a half too long for me. I could barely carry them, let alone ski in them. And I've never really used any ski made after about 1984, so it should be fun trying the new ones out. They're shiny and pretty and they look *really* freakin' cool...
Ooh, and I think the first chance I'll have to try them out will be Christmas Eve, as it looks like we're going to Lake Louise that day. Ah, skiing in Christmas Eve... That's better than playing hockey at the outdoor rink. And as I don't really remember Lake Louise, it should be a lot of fun there. I'm much more familiar with Sunshine Mountain, pretty much because that's where I' learned downhill skiing. And by learned, I mean that in the finest tradition of my family: strap on the skis and start down the hill. Lessons are for wimps...
Eeee, I can't wait to try 'em out!
Oooh, and
adri_k finally caved and got a journal! I will corrupt you, just you wait...
